On the 18th of October ten boys from year seven competed in the Brisbane maths competition. There were five students per team who had to take on two different formats of math problems. The competition was held in the Cyprian Pavillion and the Marist boys did extremely well with Team 1 coming in second on 68 points behind Nudgee Junior on 71 points, and Team 2 coming close behind. I’m sure the boys would like to give teachers like MrMcKeown, Br Adrian, Mrs Carson and Mrs Manzie, just to name a few, their sincere thanks for all their work. Mr Oostenbroek started this competition 10 years ago and came to present the medallions. Team 1 included Harrison Cusack, Henry Smith, Jonte Healy, Sam Jury and Jakob Funk and Team 2 included Joe Tully, Hamish Pyle, Nick Howe, Jacob O’Brien and Hamish Cambell.
